Your Opportunity to Lead

As the Director of Public Works, you will report directly to the City Administrator and lead a talented team. This is your chance to drive innovation, guide major capital improvements, and build a sustainable and resilient future.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Public Works operations: water, wastewater, building and grounds, streets, snow, forestry, and fleet

  • Lead the Capital Improvement Plan and major projects

  • Manage union and non-union staff with training, supervision, evaluation, and accountability

  • Manage budgets and resources effectively

  • Maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs

  • Collaborate with contractors, developers, and residents

  • Prepare reports, bids, and Council documents to ensure compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • At least 5 years of municipal public works leadership

  • Certified Public Works Professional–Management (CPWP-M) preferred

  • Water and wastewater experience required

  • Valid driver’s license, CDL preferred
